Kibuli Hospital was founded in 1975 as an outpatient facility, on land that had been donated in the 1930's by Prince Badru Kakungulu. The hospital added an inpatient unit with fifty-nine (59) beds in 1995. In 2005, the hospital opened a brand-new Emergency Medicine Department, along with a new Outpatient Wing. Currently, Kibuli Hospital is assigned a Health Sub-district within Makindye Division East, where it carries out Primary Health Care (PHC) activities with the collaboration of Makindye Division, Kampala City Council, and the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP). School of Nursing and Midwifery, AND Kibuli Medical Laboratory Training School are some of the Institutions that have come up as a result of the Hospital Growing.
