Quick Taxi Uganda Limited was launched in 2017 as a homegrown alternative to global ride-hailing services like Uber. It combined a company-owned fleet of branded yellow taxis with a partner-driver model to ensure reliable service. 

The company introduced very competitive pricing, accepted mobile money payments, and offered fair revenue-sharing to drivers (80% to drivers). It quickly expanded service areas beyond Kampala to places like Entebbe and Mukono, with future plans to reach other Ugandan cities and even regional countries. 

Quick Taxi’s focus on local needs such as supporting mobile money and offering drivers a path to own their vehicles made it stand out. Their story highlights innovation, fair partnerships, and a commitment to modernizing transport in Uganda while empowering local drivers.
