South African Airways (SAA) had a complex relationship with Uganda, involving a failed merger, route closures, and ongoing disputes. Initially, SAA was involved in a merger with Uganda Airlines, but the deal fell through. Later, SAA closed its flights to Entebbe International Airport as part of a restructuring plan.
There are also ongoing claims between the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority and SAA from before the airline ceased operations in Uganda.
