Uganda Airlines, the national carrier of Uganda, has a history marked by both triumph and adversity. Initially founded in 1976, it took over operations from East African Airways and began flying in 1977.
The airline expanded its network with routes to Europe and beyond, but faced challenges, including financial difficulties and ultimately, suspension of operations in 2001. A revival effort began in 2018, with the airline restarting operations in 2019.
Despite initial optimism and a growing route network, the revived airline has also faced financial hurdles and scrutiny.
